Women addicted to porn

My bloggin’ buddy and Lifegroup Online friend, Crystal Renaud, is tackling an issue that’s rarely talked about in a book project titled Dirty Girls: The New Porn Addicts. Crystal Renaud is a twenty-four year old writer and communications professional living in the Kansas City area. She is on staff at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS and  voluntarily counsels women with sexual addiction through the use of her own story and under the supervision and mentorship of licensed Biblical counselors. Crystal shares her story on the Dirty Girls site.

Dirty Girls is a book that will discuss the widespread, yet silent battle that women are facing with pornography addiction. Though not often discussed, with porn so available in the privacy of every women’s home, this addiction is increasing. You can read more about the project by clicking on the “about” link here!

She also needs YOUR help!! For this book to reflect what’s really happening in women’s lives, Crystal is gathering information from women presently addicted to pornography, for women who have overcome a pornography addiction and for friends, family and accountability partners of women addicted to pornography. Please take the survey today! Just click here to help!

Through analyzing surveys, as well as conducting interviews with those who have been affected by pornography, author Crystal Renaud will use her personal story of redemption and Biblical and practical tools for recovery, to show women they are not alone in their battle and the hope that freedom from a pornography addiction is possible.

Why do I care about this project? Whether men or women, pornography tears lives apart. Crystal plans to include chapters with stories about those affected by pornography. For me personally, porn was not something I chose to look at, but it was forced into my life as a “gateway” to sexual abuse. I hate even thinking about anyone looking at porn and to say that this affected me is a huge understatement. Anyone willing to honestly deal with and help prevent pornography from ruining more lives gets my support. Plus, Crystal is awesome!! ;)

Go check it out now!! And take the survey!!

  2. Rindy,

In my past 15 years in ministry I have found this issue to be a struggle in many womens lives. Their responses to this is very different than a man’s. Many of the women I have dealt with do not fully recognize the damage it is doing to them and to their relationships.

One woman in particular I counseled with spiraled down in her marriage until she finally walked away from her husband and 2 children to another woman who also was addicted to internet porn. My heart still hurts for this family. The pain of her husband and now the effect this is having on her children has been enormous.
