Incredible crytal clear blue sky…
Brilliant sunshine…
Snow tipped branches covering towering mountains…
Undisturbed flawless white…
Quaint mountain towns with cottage like storefronts…
Winding narrow roads…
Rushing water cascading down rock cliffs…
What a gorgeous drive through the Adirondack Mountains to Lake Placid! My youngest son’s hockey team is in the state championship tournament in Saranac Lake, the neighboring town. Traveling through this area, with the sun shining and a recent snowfall spotlights how truly amazing God’s creation around us is. We came here a couple years ago in the summer, rode a gondola up Whiteface Mountain, stood at the top of the Olympic Ski jumps, rode a bobsled down the mountain, and enjoyed the many lakes, streams, and waterfalls. Whether summer or winter, this area is simply gorgeous!
I am glad of one thing though—yesterday morning the temperature was -29 degrees!! Heat wave today–looks like it will climb to +20. That’s a 50 degree improvement!

So, did they win?
It’s a tournament format–had to qualify thru season. They played 2 games yesterday–lost one, won one. Have 2 more games today. Depending on how they do, could play tomorrow morning, and if win that one champ is tomorrow night!
Good luck to the team!! Continue to enjoy God’s creation and that balmy warm weather!!
I hope Dan had a good tournament and you guys got to enjoy some of Lake Placid. I haven’t been there since I was about 7 so I’m sure it’s changed. I’m not a winter person so I’ve never been attracted to going back there in the winter. You’ve peaked my interest in checking it out God’s handy work again. Any pictures you could share?
