What a week! I’m still processing it all but thought it was about time I shared some highlights of my trip to Georgia. I flew down and spent the time with Paul and Sherri Peterson and their adorable little ladies. I am so blessed to not only be a part of this church plant, but even more I am honored to be their friend. It’s awesome!
After relaxing and enjoying the much warmer weather on Saturday (did I say how much I’m sick of snow?!
), Sunday was filled with activity! I spent all morning and into the afternoon at Mountain Lake Church’s West Forsyth campus. We arrived at 5:30 AM to transform the local high school for 2 morning services. I focused on learning and seeing how the children’s and student’s areas functioned, along with some of the guest services set up. Thanks to Chad, Russ, and everyone else that spent time to teach me so much!
Sunday night we drove up to NewSpring Church and heard Perry Noble speak. Talk about energy! This is definitely a place I want to go back and experience again.
Monday and Tuesday were packed with the churchplanters.com conference “Evolve”. Highlights included:
-
Pre-conference speaker David Putman –Launching Large: Milestones for Planting a Healthy Church–tons of practical info that we need to learn and do before launching!
-
Speakers Shawn Lovejoy, Steven Furtick, Darrin Patrick, Mark Batterson, and Bil Cornelius–great teaching about being a healthy, courageous, spiritual, secure, and resilient leader! They didn’t hold back and I was definitely challenged!
-
Breakout speakers Chad and Autumn Ward–Children’s Ministry from the Ground Up. The great thing was that I spent Sunday with them actually being a part of the children’s ministry in action! Great takeaways and ideas that will be so valuable as we work to set up the children’s ministry at Walls Down!
-
Breakout speakers Bil Cornelius–Preaching to the Disconnected and Gary Lamb–Eliminating Portability as an Excuse–I just love learning from guys who are doing what they teach!
-
David Putman riding his Harley on stage, Guitar Hero showdown, and awesome worship music!!
The other big highlight was just meeting so many people!! It was great to meet in person some fellow bloggers that I’ve “known”:
-
Chris Reeder and his wife Susanne
-
and the list goes on and on…it was incredible!!
Tomorrow I’ll share what has been happening over the past 6 months since I accepted to be a part of this church!!

Good to finally meet you in person as well… You guys should start a church hockey team
It was great to meet you too!
This sounds like an exciting “life move” you are making, dear sister in Christ Jesus! Keep looking to Jesus (I call Him Yeshua)! He will carry you through! Hallelujah!
And, yes, you are right — try to let others do what they can, even if they do not do “the job” the way you would do it. It’s okay. As you know, God “gifts” (enables) each one differently. And He qualifies the called. He is so good to us all!
Many blessings of Yeshua the Messiah be yours today — Strength, Joy, Shalom Peace, and His empowering Grace!
