Going All The Way

“Even in a world where happy marriages are often considered just another fairy tale, it can be real for you. If you want something few have–genuine closeness, trust, respect, and lasting commitment–you’ll have to do what few do.”

No, I’m not getting married. No, I’m not even dating anyone. And no, I have no plans right now for either. I wanted to read and review Craig Groeschel’s latest book, Going All The Way for a couple of reasons. One is that I am always looking for good advice on marriage and dating to pass on to my kids. The other reason is I’m a regular reader of Craig’s blog and last month heard him speak at the Catalyst Conference, and he always delivers great stuff! This book exceeded my expectations on both accounts!

‘Going all the way’ refers to “God’s plan for a marriage that goes all the way in sexual, emotional, and spiritual fulfillment. And that goes all the way through the years and decades of your life.” By putting God first, dating and marriage take on a new look. Myths are broken, relationships develop, and change can occur. Through sincere and often humorous discussion and sharing of experiences, he gives practical advice to building strong commitments and loving partnerships designed to last a lifetime.

Whether dating, are engaged, or are married, this book will guide you in making choices that help grow a lifelong thriving relationship. Through solid rationale and Biblical guidance, he suggests ways to choose who to date, boundaries to establish and priorities to consider. For those married, practical and attainable new vows are discussed to reaffirm the commitment that was made. Being intentional about the choices that are made is critical. Simply stated, “if you want what few have, do what few do”.

Going All The Way isn’t just another dating and marriage book. It will change the way you look at your relationships and guide you in achieving true happiness and success. So whether you are dating, thinking about marriage, or married and looking to revitalize or add a layer of security around your marriage, this book has a lot to offer. If you’re a parent of teenagers, get this book, read it, and get it into their hands! This is stuff you want them to know!!
